A COOP case study

Efficient image management for COOP Supermarkets

With a product range of more than 15,000 articles, COOP Supermarkets has a both demanding and challenging imaging process. The Retailware platform offers the right solution.

COOP’s challenges

Specific image characteristics, consistency, synced qualities.

Nowadays, online retail is at least as important as instore. To convince consumers in the COOP webshop, product images need to be attractive. One image is, in general, not sufficient. Sometimes detailed images are needed to show specific characteristics of the product. Besides, the look and feel of all images need to be consistent.

In short: having the rightup to date product images in the right quality and the right image version, is crucial for a successful omnichannel retail operation.

Our solution

Combining for the most optimal solution

For a maximally supporting solution, we combined Retailware’s AssetFlow (DAM), Product Control Center and Offer Control modules. It offers COOP full and efficient management of the complex imaging process.

Results

Advantages for the client

  • Realtime overview of available (and missing!) images, per product category.
  • Good overview, thanks to user-friendly management screen.
  • Unified source images, in accordance with required specifications.
  • Image management tools help to proactively add images and stay in control.
  • Automized process results in more efficiency.

How does it work

AssetFlow

This module offers a central storage for all images. It automatically performs quality checks and converts the images to the required image specifications for the specific export channelsA red background immediately shows images that do not meet the standards.

How does it work

Product Control Center

With this image management tool, authorized users, for example category managers, can drag images from an import to an export channel. The images are automatically synchronized for the chosen channel.

PCC also offers tools to, for example, request a (replacement) product image from a supplier or to request products to be photographed. Uploading on the spot? The predefined process is automatically started to guarantee the quality and specifications of the images.

How does it work

Offer Control Center

Weekly offers are saved in the Offer Control Center, every week. OCC immediately shows which images of the products included in the weekly offers are missing or are not available in the right predefined specifications.

This allows for timely anticipation, so that marketing staff are not experiencing any unforeseen, delaying surprises in the production of online and offline materials.
